I have a Cowon iAudio G3 and I really like it. You would probably be looking for one with a hard drive. I haven't tried playing FLAC files with my iAudio, but I play Ogg/Vorbis files all the time. In my opinion, based solely on the G3, they make good quality players (with a few software bugs, that they fix), with a good overall feature set. I like the G3 as a flash-based player because it uses a regular AA battery, supports rechargeable batteries, supports Ogg/Vorbis and MP3, the firmware is upgradeable, and it's small.
