Have you seen:

Just "view source" to see the Javascript implementation. It uses
regular expressions though, so you'll need a third-party regular
expression implementation or you'll have to write a few of your own
parsing routines if you need to port to Actionscript.
Alternatively, you could just use the code as-is and shoehorn the
converted XML data from Javascript into Flash via ExternalInterface
(alternatively, fscommand if you're targetting Flash Player 7 or
earlier), especially if you're going to be hosting your SWF(s) from
within HTML.
