I'm the one who should apologise, Jason. I realised that my question was so broad that it would start another flame war (like that _global one), right after I hit "SEND" button. So, I apologise to the group for that. > Could you give an example of something you've struggled with, which maybe > people here could assist you in designing it better, making it more > efficient? It probably won't be me that will help though, I'm still trying > to get better at this stuff myself. For example, my site http://design.ibshastautama.com/flash/ was coded twice. On the first attempt, it didn't work as well as I expected so I went through debugging process using lots trace() which was no fun at all; mainly because of some overcomplicated MovieClip hierarchy and unnecessary functions. After spending a couple of hours, tracing my codes , pulling my hair out, and smoking 2 packets of cigarettes, I felt that rewriting it from the scracth was a better way. So, I did that and the result was satisfying. However, I think working twice on the same codes is not good at all. So here I am, asking for your guidance about how to code/design Flash applications (not only Flash sites) efficiently, as simple as possible, without making things overcomplicated. Or maybe it is just a matter of experience? TIA, -- Anggie Bratadinata Graphic|Web|Flash Jl.
