Hi list...

I have a MC of a rectangle with dimensions 1600 x 1200, registration
point at 0,0. In it is another MC of a square that's 400 x 300, located
at the upper left corner (0,0) of the _parent. I want to stretch out
the _parent MC just enough so that the inner MC _width becomes 1600. I
can't seem to figure out the math to determine the width of the _parent
MC to do this. I know the answer should be approximately 4096, but what
is the formula? Everything I try seems to be slightly off.

var coeffW = 4;
//(1600/400)
parentMC._width = Math.round((((parentMC._width * coeffW)) * coeffW);

Thanks,
- Michael M.
