I just finished the install (weird timing). I ran into problems too and
just figured it out.

So when you unzip the files from macromedia you will see a readme file
that explains the versions of the plugins. For mozilla and IE there are
two exe files.

Version 7.0.60.0 folder:
Mozilla Player Version 7.0.61.0 : flashplayer7r61_win.exe
IE Player Version 7.0.61.0 : flashplayer7r61_winax.exe

The ie version is a self executing cabinet file. The netscape version
is an exe installer that puts the dll in the Firefox (or netscape I
assume) plugins directory. This is where I got confused. After I
unzipped the IE version and followed the instructions for the plugin
switcher (putting everything in their folder) it worked like a charm in
IE but Firefox wouldn't show up in the list of netscape plugins. The
way I solved this is below:

Open the plugins dir:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins

There is a file called NPSWF32.dll (this is the swf plugin)
If you look at the version of the file it will tell you what version it
is.
Cut and paste the NPSWF32.dll into the folder where you put the rest of
the plugins for the flash player switcher.

/ Flash Plugin Switcher/
        FlashPluginSwitcher.exe
        7.0.19.0/
8.0.24.0/(if it is this version, put it here)

Now go through each version and install the netscape plugin 1 at a time
and cut and paste the NPSWF32.dll out of the plugins dir and place it in
the folder in the plugin switcher dir.

Now they will show up in the list for netscape in the plugin switcher.

I hope that makes sense.

Having the same problem with 8 for IE. Magically disappears even though
the
8.0.22.0 folder for it is clearly there.

I had trouble with it remembering my 8.5 plugin (it could uninstall it
fine, but next time i startes flash plugin switcher, 8.5 wasn't in the
dropdown list).

otherwise no problems.
