Yes, definately using .nodeValue to get at the value.  What I did not say is
that I am outputting to htmlText in order to format with CSS.  Even when not
using CSS to format, just outputting the text straight with no CSS
formatting, no go.  The problem doesn't seem to occur when you're using
something like yourtextfield.text.  Many thanks for the previous reply.
