However, with most of our work, we develop an RIA for a client, who handles the back-end themselves. So, we develop our apps so that they send and receive XML, which means the client can use whatever they want in the backend: asp, asp.net, webservices, php, whatever... Is this a valid position? E.g., if we used amfphp, are we then limiting our flexibility on the back-end?
There are open source implementations of AMF in .NET, Java, and PHP, as well as closed source versions for multiple platforms, so compatibility shouldn't be too much of a concern. For more information look here: http://www.osflash.org/amf You can also add Red5 to the list presented there. I hope that helps. -Chris _______________________________________________ [email protected] To change your subscription options or search the archive: http://chattyfig.figleaf.com/mailman/listinfo/flashcoders Brought to you by Fig Leaf Software Premier Authorized Adobe Consulting and Training http://www.figleaf.com http://training.figleaf.com
