Ryan, I went ahead and switched over to swfObject. I really like it!
One thing. After installing Flash 8/9 via express install, when the browser is redirected back to the page the navigation does not appear. However, after clicking elsewhere and going to a new page the navigation appears. Are you using swfObject? If not I would give it a look.
