I just thought that of course Flashers are not the only ones who have to keep an eye on the performance there might be a very simple tool to continously watch a certain process or something. This could make it pretty straightforward to detect bad perfoming code early on ... I just can't imagine all the professionals work with this task manager.

Same here Nik, All I do is watch the percentages on the Task Manager. Not an exacting science, but I believe that it needs to be. I just need to reasonably simulate systems at different levels. There are places that specialize in QA testing and benchmarking.
