Yes, that does look a bit odd. How about something like:
var tIndex = 1
_root.onEnterFrame = function() {
for (var i=0; i<7 i++) {
trace(tIndex++)
}
if (tIndex == 70) {
delete _root.onEnterFrame
}
};
