Hello Cedric,
So, coming off the enterFrame() tween discussion, a lot of people
mentioned various tweening libraries. I still use Fuse, which
has proven extremely capable for my purposes; are there any
pressing flaws in Fuse, or benefits in the other packages, that
might convince me to change?
The ultimate answer is that it's more of a matter of personal
preference (due to syntax and approach) based on what your most
pressing needs are than anything. It's not a black-and-white thing.
Most people will have their preferred packages/classes, but it's
hard to put it in objective terms from a general standpoint. It
varies from person to person.
Almost getting offtopic, but Tweener is one tough tweening engine!!
thanks zeh ;)
Now, I want to add GlowFilter, .. filters support to Tweener. I saw
that BlurFilter is implemented, but not the others. I will try to dig
it a little further when I have time, but do you have any
recommendations so I can contribute to the project?
Thanks a lot, man! It means a lot to me.
The rest of the filters tweening as native 'special properties' is
actually added, for the most part (GlowFilter is there, I just finished
cleaning it up a couple of days ago); however, it hasn't been made live
(into the SVN) yet because I still have to test them to make sure
nothing has been broken (there has been some internal changes) and port
them to AS3 correctly. It's just that I haven't had the time to properly
do that due to several different real-life pressing issues and I didn't
want to commit half-assed unstable code.
We'll shortly have a better 'contribute' page with a list where people
can find how to contribute to the project more easily, as there has been
some interest in that. Tweener follows a modular approach so adding new
features such as special properties (such as the ones used by filters)
is easy, so hopefully certain specific contributions (ie, "zigzag
sliding" or random stuff like that) can coexist peacefully and be turned
on and off as needed.
There's a lot going on right now with the correct documentation being
finished and some important features, so after these pseudo-milestones
are done (soon hopefully) it'll be easier to get things going.
Thanks,
Zeh
