Well, only when the mc is in the centre of the stage and when the left edge of the mc is at the 0-coordinate ;-) mc.x + mc.width/2 is the x-coordinate of the centre (when the left edge of the mc is at the 0-coordinate) Carry on. Draw it and use real values to test your formulas. HTH Willem
