No but .... compiling a page each time it is requested feels somewhat awkward 
(even though I know how html renders ;) )
I feel that the cross platform compatibility feature (iPhone <-> Flash Player) 
is a dense fog, plus it certainly has a lot of drawbacks (complex things done 
in Flash won't be interpreted by the engine, so you're tied to FTML, a kind of 
MXML but ... wrong'er'  or if you don't comply then you won't be compatible 
iOS/Android wise resulting in nothing new).

And sites as shown in the samples ( samples + website sample) are better 
rendered directly in HTML. Plus, by doing pure html, you can get farther than 
what this seems to render. Same goes for flash anyway ...

Still, I don't have a clue about that FTML, all the above is pure speculation. 
The idea/concept is a good one though, but I think Flex already tried it (and 
the idea to make Flash compatible with HTML is a no go: any reasonable person 
would opt for HTML, making it compatible with every browser out there, why 
would one put Flash in there ?)
