AMF is another way of saying "Remoting". Flex 1.0 and 1.5 came with Remoting included, much like ColdFusion does. Once OpenAMF and AMFPHP figure out the new AMF, we'll have no need of the Enterprise Services... at least for Remoting. They are far much more than just remoting.

Now, obviously, the old AMF client side code can be ported to AS3, but MM has no intent of making it easy or giving it away.
