I used the Flash extension by Mike Chambers [http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?extid=1016963&view=sn111] Publishing using the command "Clear ASO and compile" seems to use the latest version of my cache every time. Hope this helps the next poor user who gets caught out.
