Danny,

You convinced me to order your book about a week ago which I have yet to
received and it had better be good!!

Here's my 2 favorite:

Keith Peter's "Making things Move"
Pros:
-Covers a lot of topics including advanced 3d techniques like
Backface culling and lighting
-Easy to plugin formulas at the end of almost every chapter
-Easy laid back writing style that applies to people with
non-traditional Math experience
-One of the more advanced books
-Covers AS2.0 and a little of Flash 8 stuff
        -Covers Trig fundamentals
Cons:
-Not OOP based (which is good for some people because it's one
less thing to learn)
-Most code and examples have been done all over the web so many
times there isn't a whole lot of ground breaking things to read about.
But, at least you'll know how to do them when you see them.

Robert Penners "Programming Macromedia Flash MX"
Pros:
        -Covers Trig fundamentals
-Covers OOP and Event model (although in as1.0)
        -Easy to understand
-One of the best books on 3D math and Physics
Cons:
        -AS1.0 and it's getting old
-A lot of the 3D code you learn is never utilized in the last
few chapters when he shows you how to put it all together to make
particle systems and tornados.

Anyway, hope that helps

I think my book might be worth looking at (third time plugged in two
weeks, sorry everyone!). It's aimed at people who may have no
mathematical knowledge at all, but are willing to make the effort!
Covers vectors, trigonometry, bezier curves, 3d geometry, nurbs and a
bunch more besides, as well as physics topics
