Please do not rely on being able to load local FLV from a remote SWF. As you've noted, security restrictions are increasingly preventing this class of operation. I'm not familiar with how the LMS helps you find the CD drive; maybe it can help you get to the content, too. But plain remote SWF->local FLV will probably not stay supported.
