Hi David, The new version of Zinc (2.5) has synchronous functions, so the flash timeline will wait until the FileIO call is complete before continuing.
If you don't want to have flash stop while the function completes you have two options: 1.You can make the call asynchronous (I think you add a mdm["ASYNC"] as a function parameter or something similar) - check the forum for more info. 2. Use mdmscript 1.0 which uses callbacks. FYI, I've used Zinc extensively and I love it. Very powerful and flexible. Not having to use callbacks in Zinc 2.5 has been WONDERFUL. The mdm forum is also a great resource.
