Video DVD's will automatically open the DVD player in OSX, but there
is no way to have an application on a CD or DVD open when the disk is
put in, at least without some prior setup on the computer.

Pre OSX used Quicktime's auto play option to enable CDs to auto play,
(by default turned on, but can be turned off)

You know, I mentioned the above problematic possibility (no auto-play
on OSX) to the person who hired me, and they are positive that
auto-play is available on a Mac/OSX... But they are planning on
setting-up auto-play outside of any Lingo or Actionscript.
Are you guys talking about auto-play scripted via Flash/Director, or
the more traditional autoplay implementation?
