yeah that's close...! What you need is a pendulum simulation, where the clicked point is the pivot, and the centre point is the weight (centre of gravity). I built something like this for www.jak2renegade.com, except there was gravity involved too. (check scene 2). Take out the effects of gravity and you get what you're looking for.
