Take a look at the man's JSFL command: http://www.jessewarden.com/archives/2004/04/jsfl_list_frame.html
Also, there's an extension from Teknision, but I can't find the link at the moment. So, no Flash 8 doesn't have this built-in, but with JSFL you can do this yourself. Jesse's spits out the frame labels to the output panel, but you could write the labels to an ActionScript layer, which is what I think the Teknision extension does. Of course this could be done in Flash MX04 ... As an aside, I'd recommend Flash 8 as an upgrade if you're using the IDE a lot. I use it all day and can't stand going to back MX04. Not that Flash 8 is perfect, but there are enough IDE glitches that have been fixed in 8 to make it well worth the upgrade for me. Has Macromedia gotten around to adding a movieclip property that is an array of all the labels in the movieclip? Much like the LabelList property in Director? If not, has anyone been able to replicate this functionality? Meaning, is it even possible to fake it without having to make an array, containing the frames and their labels, by hand.
