With respect to the legality, fonts may be likely candidates for piracy -
but there's nothing to stop people swapping system font folders. So given
that users can copy and swap font files, I really don't see the problem
introducing a utility in the IDE that collects the fonts for any given
project. For archival purposes alone, this would be very useful and save a
great deal of time tracking down obscure fonts when ressurrecting some
project dormant for some period of time.

Suitcase is pretty useful. To try and get around this problem in house, we
restored everyone's system fonts folder to the default os install. Then we
agreed that we would create a suitcase for every project. This eased matters
somewhat, but then we ran into the problem where the font name displayed in
suitcase is not the same as the font name displayed in Flash. Not even the
same family in some cases.

So, it becomes impossible to determine which font file Flash is actually
using to display any specific font in the IDE. If there was just an
extension to the font mapping dialog that allowed us to see the physical
font files being used by the IDE for each font, that would be a major step
forward, and Flash could stick with the bizarro font naming
convention...which I just don't get.

Not wanting to divert this thread - but actually I think the font naming
system is the heart of the problem. Why does Flash use different names for
fonts than other applications? And where does Flash take that name from?
