Hi M,

The ExternalInterface.available reports true.
I myself was looking into a solution more in using an iframe and
checking against the history or a custom js array.

But today we had a Flex 2 launch seminar, and I asked about the back
button in Flash Player 9. I was told there would be no change in the
Flash Player, but the Flex 2 framework is able to handle back button
stuff (as it can in Flex 1.5 (I didn't know it could)).
So now I want to check how they do it in Flex...
They are also still looking for ways to bookmark stuff, but it didn't
sound very promising yet.

Currently I can do deeplinking without problems, for example in one of
our sites:
http://www.cygnusx-3.nl is the regular entry and
http://www.cygnusx-3.nl/werk/tv/afstandhouden/ would bring you right
into the 'Work' world to the content.
This is mostly used when people enter the site using a search engine.

But now I really want to tackle the back button issue. I did not check
your solution yet with IE, but it should already work in IE?

Hmm, I am told that it probably cannot be done in Safari Joeri, but let
there be hope, I will be in deep thought concering this problem. The IE
solution is used when IE is detected, so the firefox solution is what's used
rather by default. In spite of this I was expecting it to work in Opera.
Luckily, I can grab the windows compilation for Opera for debugging...

Joeri I have a question for you, does the external interface initialize with
Safari? Check for ExternalInterface.available? true/false in the test swf.

Thank you for the support guys,

M.
