I would say to look at your NDA, or contract agreement, or whatever you signed for your position. I think your NDA will prevent you from talking about a project first and foremost. If you managed to go without signing an NDA, most likely your contract agreement that says you are doing this work for money will prevent you from posting screenshots due to copyright infringement. That said, you can be sure by just asking the producer or client for permission. If you're proud of the work, there shouldn't be a problem...especially if it gets them extra press in the development community. What I USUALLY do, is post a screenshot and a short description on my website, but only if the work is already released and available to the public. And I usually say that it "was a great and fun project", so nobody gets a disaparaging word and would get me in trouble for taking THEIR work and showing it on my portfolio. Honestly, nobody looks at my webpage unless I'm trying for a job anyway, so it's not so high profile. If you are doing something that lots of people would see....your sure fire way of not getting in trouble is permission from the client. But if you want to risk it, just make sure to put them in a positive light and don't disclose any negative details about the development cycle!

I have a project that I am wrapping up that will be having some publicity
stuff related to it. Are there any weird rules or stuff like that as far as a developer for a project linking to it or press releases as an example of
their work. I'm not sure how that works and feel as if everything has
hidden rules so I wanted to check from those here that might have relevant
experience.

Thanks in advance for the feedback and insight.
