I have a strange problem. I have a flash swf within a director shell and
occasionally when you reach the flash swf, the caret inside all flash
textfields disappears. If you then leave the 'swf' (staying within the
director shell) and return to the swf the caret sometimes reappears
again and sometimes doesn't.
I'm using flash 8, and the flash 8 xtra within the latest version of
Director MX 2004. The Macromedia site mentioned it had solved problems
like this, but it doesn't appear to have in my case.
No, this problem is sadly still with us. We did find a number of methods to
improve things, but nothing seems to be foolproof. The best thing we could
find was
sprite(n).visible = false
sprite(n).visible = true
although ironically this seems to be less effective using the new xtra.
