In the little experience I have with data services, receiving XML data is great, but it's also much slower - more data to transfer, then you parse. Right now I am using Flash > to SOAP WSDL (.NET) to receive XML strings - works good because they are small packets of data, but wouldn't want to do that for a larger app. Would have the .NET developer write some methods for me to grab the data directly or use something else.
