this happens to me only sometimes and when I use negative leadings. Try to encapsulate your textfield with a movieclip and grab the height of the movieclip instead of the textfield height. That's the common workaround, I think.

No IDE for Linux yet :( Can't find any coding errors. Single line text fields are lining up just fine. When I ask flash for the size of the double line text field, it adds thirteen to the _height.
