Something I've noticed that helps with this issue is on the first frame of the PNG sequence, place a copy of all of the PNGs on one frame (either masked or offstage), and it seems to load them all into memory for a faster run through.

Plus, I don't think using cacheAsBitmap will give you any performance boost in this case.

Hi!

I have a problem with some PNG-sequences that I put into Flash. They are quite heavy 3D films. I noticed that when I load them in the browser they play very slowly the first time. This is even if I check that the movie is finished loading. Any idea how to get around this problem? It is Flash 8 project and I use cacheAsBitmap = true; on the movie clip that loads in the PNG sequence.

Thanks in advance!
