Just as an organisational tip - rather than putting the TextFields on stage and invisible or offstage somewhere, another way to include them is to create a new MovieClip in the library, put all your dummy textfields (plain/bold/italic or whatever's needed) into that clip with Embedding turned on, then set the linkage properties of that library clip to "Export for ActionScript" and "Export in First Frame". This means that clip will get included in the .swf and loaded in frame 1.
