Yes, this is where I've ended up - although as I mentioned in a separate thread, this has its own problems because setNewTextFormat is failing for text set by .variable, which is my preferred method for making this thing work. It's a particular nightmare because bidi text *does* work on the Mac, so I have to make the code platform-dependent (and I bet some day Adobe will make it work on PC's and break all my code) Also, in my experience trying to use > an embedded font for Arabic, the FlashPlayer fails to connect > the letters.
