The following code is on a button which is nested inside of a movieclip. I am also using a flash component from flashloaded.com for a dynamic tooltip. This component is why the button needs to be be inside a mc (otherwise it won't work.)

on(release) {
        _level0.gotoAndStop("Some Label"); // this works fine
        _level0.myFunction();                                   // this doesn't
work
}

Thanks.

hi,

Scope wise there should not be any problem as u can address anything on root timeline from any timeline as _root.somevariable or _root.somefunction().

  Would u like to post the code?

  regrads,

  Hello,

In my button that is nested inside of a mc, i am able to move the
main timeline to different points but when trying to call a function
that lives on the root timeline like the following:

_level0.myFunctionName();

Is not working. Is this some type of scoping issue?
