Hmm. I don't think you want a Loader if you just want to pass the file through (as opposed to loading its content *into* Flash) - if you're just duplicating the functionality of an HTML file upload form element then FileReference is definitely what you need - you give it a form catcher to POST to, exactly the same as an HTML form. It's Flash 8/AS2.
