Hi, all.

After the joy that was Arabic text, we're likely to be moving on to
Japanese. Anyone have any hints and tips about it? In particular, how
comfortable are Flash input fields with double-byte input?

In Arabic, we encountered a number of issues with text input. In particular,
it turned out that text fields that used non-embedded fonts would use the
OS-specific textfield (so Arabic text would appear right-to-left and
cursively joined, although line breaks failed to work correctly), but text
fields that used embedded fonts didn't (Arabic text came in left-to-right,
and without replacing the logical characters with their cursive variants).
I'm wondering if I'm going to encounter similar issues with Japanese - in an
embedded text field am I going to find that the double-byte characters come
in as pairs of single-byte characters instead?

Best
Danny
