Subject: Re: [Flashcoders] Skewing MovieClip??
Well i was talking about skewing orizontally in order to have a mirrored
movieClip effect.. by the way, Snepo, your way you of a nested movieClip
is true but not achievable dynamically, another technique i am trying to
use is by using the mx.geom.Transform class and the mx.geom.Matrix class
but i am still trying to figure out it's properties...

Skewing isn't available but is possible.
In order to skew a clip (skewClip) the clip needs to be nested inside
another movie clip (containerClip).
To skew - rotate both skewClip and containerClip in opposite
directions and modify either the _xscale or _yscale of
containerClip... the result s a skewed skewClip. I'm not certain of
the math to make this readily usable but this technique should offer a
start.

As far as I can figure, "skewing" isn't available in flash right

Adjusting the yScale will change the dimensions of a movieclip, for
example (Hope my ASCII drawings work!) ___

___
Becomes
_

_
When you reduce the _yScale.
Skewing horizontally would be adjusting the x coordinates on the top
of the movieclip but leaving the ones on the bottom. Skewing a
square to the right would result in this:
___

___
Becomes
____
/ /
/___/
Which I don't believe you would be able to do with a MovieClip.
You may
be able to achieve these results with drawing simple shapes or maybe
using some of the bitmap functionality, but that is way over my
head.

Duplicate your MovieClip and try _yscale = -100 ?
Or do i get you wrong?

i have a movieClip on my Stage and i need to skew it orizontally

need the movieClip to be mirrored.
Any Ideas?
