Seeing as you mentioned ColdFusion (you didn't mention that one before :-) ), you can also use Flash Remoting to get the information to and from Flash. Where there's a back-end language, there will probably be a database involved and in there will probably be a field for video records.

As for placing the video, you can play video almost anywhere, so putting it in a button is a definitely possibility.
