Hi everybody.

My problem is the following. Ich have a website where I need a lot of thumbnail images. The thing is, that I need the same images at the same time in different movie clip. All images are loaded dynamicly from a location defined in the xml file. So I can't just load them once and duplicate the movie clip, because then all images attached to the duplicated clip will be deleted.

My idea was to load all thumbnails into the browser's cache. I used the FileProloader from Satori Canton, which can be found here: http:// www.actionscript.com/Article/tabid/54/ArticleID/Preloading-Files-into- the-Browser-s-Cache/Default.aspx.

So this class loads all thumbnails to cache which then should be instantly loaded when I try to load them to my movie clips with my Preloader class utilizing the MovieClipLoader. At first this seems to work, but only if less thumbnails are loaded. If I have a bunch of thumbnails it takes as long as if the files where not in the cache.

Do I do something wrong? Have I misunderstood the concept of loading files to the cache? If you have any suggestions or other solutions to this problem I would be pleased.

Thanks.
David
