I'd love to know if anyone has any advice... on best way to extract text from specific objects of an XHTML page which a SWF is loaded into... then allow the extracted text strings to be available in the SWF.

I've built Javascript to extract text from XHTML the page in combination with the use of SWFObject for Javascript detection, Flash detection and to send text extractions to SWF with FlashVars). I believe the FlashVars method has a limit of 64kb which should work in almost every case.

Here's a proof of concept I've created:

Does anyone have advice on the best approach on this method or other things to consider?

This has been working pretty smoothly so far, but I just have this sneaking suspicion there might be a better way to do this.

Im curious if there might be a way to have Flash load the XHTML page itself into and XML node, and if this would even make sense.

Or is my current approach a pretty solid one?
