Updating: Importing the flv using the VideoDisplay component cut the CPU utilization down to 50-60% while looping. Moving to release had no effect. I'm feeling that's still too high for a non-functional piece -- its just pretty, damn it.
My testing showed the thing running at ~50% until the video ended, then utilization dropping to 2%. Looks like I'm gonna go with an image unless there's some magic FLV component that uses no CPU to play video ; ). Thanks for the help Troy.
