What have you tried?

I don't think you can do this via the timeline you need to do it programatically by setting the mask of a clip to another clip which has it's bitmap caching set to true.

Hi,
I was trying to script a spotlight effect in AS3... I didn't have any luck, apparently, it's pretty common to do this and come up with a rectangle. Does anyone have a working example of this? This is probably something I am going to do over and over again so help is really appreciated.

Thanks,
Patrick
