Precisely, when I look at the file I was going to work on my first instinct was to look for the moviclips on the stage where they were created, but when I took a closer look to the file I figured out that all the elements were drawn with the drawing API using coordinates from an external XML. That is why I was wondering if there was an easy way (hack) that I didnt know about to "guess" find the coordinates without having to draw each point and then extract the coordinates to then be written on to the XML.
My first idea is that the person who created the first file must have drawn all the points on stage, acquire the information and then write them on to the XML. The benefit of this procedure is that if you need to turn on/off elements on stage you can just update the XML rather than having to break open the FLA and delete/hide movieclips as necessary. I hope that makes more sense... On 1/3/08, Merrill, Jason <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I don't quite follow - why would you try to draw new points to know > where they are?
