Hey Romu,

Thanks for the tip, this sounds interesting!
Didn't thought of the SWC.

We'r almost finished with the current project, but will certainly look into it before the next:)

If you would use the swc in the flash IDE, .. would be be recompiled when publishing? And are there any limitations/restrictions for instance about script using library items of the swc?

Especially interested in keeping the flash IDE due to automation using JSFL, but not looking forward to the publishing time in as3 without FLASC.

With kind regards,

Dennis

You can create an actionscript project in Flex, see this tutorial:
http://www.gotoandlearn.com/player.php?id=60

Then you can create your graphics in Flash and use them as a SWC file in
Flex Builder.

If you create your SWC in flash you can even use Flash develop or FDT with
the Flex SDK, you don't need anymore Flex Builder.

Is that your question?

Just to be sure..

Are you saying you can use the builder in the same way as Flasc?
develop everything(incl. graphics) in the flash... and update any class
changes with the Flex Builder?

You don't need to know Flex to use the Flex SDK compiler...

I think the name probably confuses people, because it's both a
Flex and ActionScript compiler (correct me if I'm wrong).

I only program in ActionScript, using Flash Develop and the SDK.
Our compile times went from 1 minute down to 4 seconds when
we did the change in our company...

I think there is not so much to learn to do this move, but if the code
is mixed all over the multiple time lines in the IDE, then there can be
a lot of work to do separating the two.

The reason i am yet to move to Flex is because as it stands i don't have
the time to start learning/using a new prog!
Ive been using flash since version 4 so know the program quite well! Once

ive had time to play with Flex i may well swap to using it!
