Matt, Thank you for your response and clarification on why dot.lookups are slower in a for statement than just doing it once and storing in a variable. It makes sense (obviously) but was something I never paid too much attention to. I appreciate your insight. Also thank you for the idea of storing the sub_mc as another lookup. var mySquare:MovieClip = myObj.menuSquare_mc as MovieClip; This also makes sense and is so much easier to write in tweenMax.
