As I am new, I wonder what the etiquette is on this list for dealing
with people who screws up the metadata by hitting reply instead of
writing a new message.
This annoys me, since my email client is smart enough to break the
conversations down Usenet style, making it easy to keep track of all the
replies. People replying instead of writing new messages interferes with
this and makes it harder to keep track of the conversations.
The client can not just ignore the message subject, because there are
valid reasons to change the subject once in a while, not to mention that
replies does it with the RE:, the metadata is the only usable way of
doing it.
Of course, there is also the issue with people who reply without the
metadata, mainly bulk users. However, I think that is not a needed issue
either, since it is possible to make bulk messages contain each message
separately so that the metadata is indeed kept when replying.
Anyway, I am looking for some advice from someone who knows what the
policy is.
