Hi,
   I successfully used flashrom (it was maybe 6 months ago, so I'm
unsure which version of flashrom I used) to upgrade the official BIOS on
an HP laptop (lspci, flashrom etc output attached). This was before I
noticed the warning against flashrom on laptops, so I consider myself
lucky ;)
