Thanks for your help! If you like to help us, you can test writing the chip as well. Since erasing has worked, it is very likely that writing will too, but it would still be nice to know. Also, if you ever want to re-enable the firmware of the controller you would already know that it works (or if it currently does not work, you will have an updated, working version of flashrom already and dont need to wait ;) You can use any file of exactly 128 * 1024 B that does not contain 0xFF only, or the data already in the chip (flashrom would skip writing then).
