Thanks for the information. I will give it a try next time. The executable 
looks much larger than the 0.9.6.1 I have (728KB vs. 200-ish KB). I have been 
using flashrom with a bootable floppy disk most of the time so 700+KB seems a 
little too gigantic. Maybe it's time for me to dust off my old zip drives :)

Hello Lu,

we may host pre-built binaries for less open-oriented systems in the
future again and will change the respective links on our website. For
now you can use the files located here
http://buildbot.flashrom.org/buildresults/flashrom-000577-MQE/dos/
They use the source code of 0.9.9.
