Please define "best". I used fldigi on Windows XP with PowerSDR and my
Flex 5000. I also use it on MacOS with a K2. I cannot test the latter
as you don't make new versions of the MacOS build available. (I have
had so much trouble successfully building fldigi under MacOS that I
quit trying.)

I make a point to test using both hamlib and RigCAT as I have suitable
definitions for both but my testing is cursory, i.e. does it work or
doesn't it. I don't try to quantify it beyond that. Are you interested
in update-rate/latency or error rate? I suppose we could have periodic
errors that masquerade as reduced response time.
