Team,

Referring to the email below where some hams are having difficulties with
the PSK modes in Pskmail due to the jittery behaviour of the current version
of Fldigi in that context. I also experienced this and found 3.13AH to
produce very stable decode in PSK modes on the same PC and configuration.

So question 1: have I given Paul the right advice?

Question 2: if yes, was this "jitter issue" addressed in 3.13 and or was
changed in an earlier version that I missed?

Question 3: if is was addressed in 3.13, do we have a target time frame or
date for its release, so I that I can go back to these hams.

Question 4: Is there a "policy" or guidelines on distribution of alpha
versions for test purposes?

Regards,

John

 Hi John,

Tnx for the quick reply. Unfortunately I tried these settings but without
result. In all other modes, like RTTY, MT-63, Olivia RX-fldigi is I don?t
have that jittering.

I really hope that 3.13 version will come soon, I have some enthusiastic
HAMs to start with pskmail tests, but that delays due to this jitter
problem.

Paul,

I assume you mean when using the PSK modes. If so, in the modem/psk
configuration tab, adjust the signal acquisition S/N up (I found 13dB was ok
for me) and the search range down ( had to put it at 10Hz). The upcoming
version of Fldigi (3.13, when it comes out) seems to have resolved that
jitter issue. In the mean time this is the workaround.

Some weeks ago I had a laptop 1.1 Ghz and fldigi 3.12.3 and jpskmail ?win
resulted in a jittering fldigi rx. Using XP. I went to fldigi 3.10 and the
problem was solved.

Now I try to set up a laptop XP 1,4 GHz for a fellow HAM and fldigi 3.12.4
as well as 3.10 are jittering.

Any tip?
