Dick,

I have just finished testing for this problem, here is my setup.

Mac Mini with Snow Leopard 10.6.1
Fldigi 3.13AN
FT817 5 watts
Miracle Antenna (used this to set close to the Mac Mini so as to induce
some RFI, it does on the Mini)
Rascal Interface
USB to Serial Converter (listed as
/dev.cu/usbserial<http://dev.cu/USBserial>on my system)
Tested All modes

Results: I can not duplicate the problem on this setup. The capturing QSO
Data works as it should per the instructions.

Tried same test setup using Virtual Machines with Ubuntu 9.04, Windows XP,
Windows RC beta. No problem found
using Virtual Machines but the same hardware setup.

I am wondering if some feedback or RFI is getting into the interface which
might cause this to happen.

By chance are you and Jeff using the same interface? This is a very curious
phenomena you have observed.

I can confirm the problem does not exist using FT857 in the Shack with Linux
Mint or Ubuntu 9.04 using
Rig Blaster M8 with 25 watts into Inverted V or the Mystery Antenna using
MFJ Autotuner.

I will try and set up to test on the Mobile later this week. That will be
using a Macbook with 10.6.1
the FT857 in the car and Hustler antenna setup. Again this will be using a
Rascal Interface as
I use those in my portable and mobile operations.

Will let everyone know the results of that when completed.
