Ed,

The problem had nothing to do with RFI. At first I thought this
may be a bug but then it dawned on me Dave may have been
using different Op Mode settings before packaging the 3.13AY.dmg.

When I opened the fresh version the opening settings for several
modes were different from what I had been using. Just changing
them did not correct the problem as they would revert to the wrong
settings on restart. This was when I posted the question.

Once I reset RTTY to RTTY-45 and then used the SAVE button,
fldigi remembered my settings. Something just got a little confused
in my configuration and it is now working FB.

I have been gun shy to use the Save button unless I have
changed something... and in this case I change nothing. I
just downloaded and installed the latest AY and the settings
did not track what I had previously saved.

All is well and fldigi-3.13AY now remembers my settings just
like it used to.

Ps: Excused this delayed response. I get alpha updates in digest
rather than real time format.
